Presidential Election Hinges on How Many Dissatisfied Bush Voters Swing to McCain
Ron Brownstein, political director for Atlantic Media, told the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Committee of 100 that the Presidential election could well hinge on how many voters dissatisfied with President Bush vote for John McCain. Brownstein, who is a regular on the Washington, D.C., political televised talk show circuit, said he believes that Barack Obama is attempting to convince people he can lead the nation in a new direction while McCain is trying to convince voters he is the better leader for this nation. Regardless, it is very tight election and it is very fluid.
Brownstein was the opening keynote speaker at AWB's annual Policy Summit on Sept. 25 at the Resort at Semiahmoo. You can see Brownstein's presentation to the 300 AWB members at the Policy Summit on TVW which is very similar to his presentation to the Chamber tonight in Florida. The other debates are also playing on TVW and take a look at them before you vote.
Washington chamber executives selected to be on the U.S. Chamber's Committee of 100 along with me are Betty Nokes, CEO of Bellevue Chamber, and David Graybill, CEO of the Tacoma-Pierce County, chambers of commerce.
Remember to fill out your ballots, sign them and mail them in before Nov. 4.
Don C. Brunell, President (DonB@awb.org)
