Boeing CEO Worries About the Company's Competitiveness in Light of Current Machinists Strike---Washington Leaders Ought to Worry as Well

From the Washington Alliance for a Competitive Economy (WashACE) blog, Boeing CEO James McNerney gives his views on the current financial situation and our nation's competitiveness.  Along with his concerns for all of the competitive pressures from Airbus and the financial uncertainty in our nation and around the world, McNerney is worried about what the current machinist's strike is doing to the company and its production and delivery schedule.

In the same posting, there is a reference to statements from Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis for the Teal Group, an industry consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Aboulafia questions whether Boeing will pick Washington in the future for airplane assembly because of what is happening with its union relationships.  That is not good for Washington and its working families.

Check out the WashACE blog each day.  It has some good posts.
