In his Olympia Dispatch blog, Chris Mulick reports that the governor anticipates vetoing sections of this session's accountability-weakening WASL legislation.
After the Legislature adjourned Gov. Chris Gregoire left the impression that she'd be looking to veto part of the WASL bill lawmakers cobbled together and voted out on the session's final day. On Friday she told the Herald editorial board she'd be surprised if she didn't.
"I couldn't be more frustrated," she said, noting that she called for the delaying graduation requirements for the math and science WASLs in November "and then we waited literally until the last week of session and then it was just frantic. That's no way to do policy in my opinion."
Right.
